I thought that the game could go into overtime, but after seeing how the referees controlled the first half, it was certain that the Steelers would prevail. I truly feel as though the ref's calls kept the game within the Steelers reach in the first half. I am happy for Ben (I like his play for a new up-and-comer). But the consistent calls that went against the Seahawks made me uncomfortable in watching the game. If this is the best the NFL has for referees (and the same goes for college football), we need more competent instant replay officials.

Did Bill Cowher ever find Mike Holmgren after the game? Or did Holmgren vacate the field in a snit without the time-honored handshake with the opposing coach?
--Gretchen Freeman, Burnsville, Minn.

I enjoyed watching the game. Even though it was a slow start to the first half. The commercials were alright, nothing to go out and say "I have to have that." And the halftime show? It could have been a little more interesting. I like the Rolling Stones but it was ugh bland. Like a bowl of no fat, no salt potato chips! But watching my boy "Big Ben" run around and fulfill his promise to "The Bus" was awesome. I love "Big Ben"!
--Christina, Tuckerton, N.J.

As a Seahawks fan, I have to admit that the Steelers earned that win. However, I still think that the refs were simply terrible. If it wasn't for them, the game could have been a lot closer. But anyway, I'm still proud about the season the Seahawks had. Lets get it next year, 'Hawks.
--David Bookey, Everett, Wash.

It is tough to win when you are up against the 12th man. I don't know how Levy, with five years experience, got to ref the biggest game of the year - but he either made a lot of money from Las Vegas or needs new glasses. He helped the Steelers get ahead and allowed them to stay ahead.
--Steve Santos, Castro Valley, Calif.

Outright horrible officiating impacted the game and it ruined the Super Bowl for me. It's unbelievable how bad they were and how one-sided the calls seemed to be.
--Lazlo Toth, Boston

Watched the highlights, that's it. This game was not a "One to watch" other than Jerome Bettis getting to ride off in the sunset with a victory. Simply saying, A BORING SUPER BOWL!!!
--Ricardo, San Antonio

I wanted the Steelers to win, but I didn't want it handed to them by the officials. This is not a win they can be proud of.
--Gene Richards, Modesto, Calif.

The "Bus" will ride right up to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot. What a gentleman...
--George Fonseca, Hoboken, N.J.

What a great game! Too bad the team that had the biggest impact were the ones wearing the stripes. Although I admire the Steelers and their incredible playoff run, they were outplayed in this game. Fortunately for them, they were assisted by another team. I can only wonder which Pop Warner league did the NFL pick this crew from?
--Ben, Buena Park, Calif.

The better team won. They were the best team at the beginning of the season, before all the injuries. If you didn't see that, you were blind. As the season progressed things went a different route as they barely made the playoffs, then ... threw everyone in their way overboard. Never count them out. Sometimes, their chances are bad, but you just can't ever really count them out. The better team won - not just out of two Super Bowl teams, but the best team in the league won. Don't get on the bandwaggon now, we're at full capacity.
--Ryan Swartz, Tallahassee, Fla.

If I were a Seahawks fan, I would feel cheated. They got the "short end of the stick", so to speak, on several crucial calls that effected the outcome of the game. It is a shame that the premier league in professional sports can allow such putrid officiating to occur without comment.
--Steven Shearon, Wilmington, Del.

I want to hear Joey Porter's thoughts on the officiating now. Clear and simple, Pittsburgh does not win this game without the help of incompetent, one-sided officiating. Terrible!!!
--Kevin, Columbus, Ohio
