Orel Hershiser, a Dodgers' hero during much of the 1980s and the 1988 Cy Young winner, is a candidate for the 2006 Hall of Fame.

On Jan. 10, the Baseball Writers' Association of America will choose the 2006 inductees for the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Among the candidates are 15 holdovers from previous ballots, including Jim Rice, Andre Dawson and Goose Gossage, and 14 newcomers, like Dwight Gooden and Orel Hershiser. A player needs to be included on 75 percent of the ballots to get to Cooperstown, and on five percent just to remain on the ballot for next season.

But here at NBCSports.com, we're giving you the chance to fill out your own Hall of Fame ballot. Pick 10 of the 29 candidates you think deserve to go to Cooperstown, and rank them in order from the most- to least-deserving. Then vote to see how your selections compare to the majority of NBCSports.com readers.

When you're done, we'll give you a chance to share your thoughts on why you picked the players you did. We'll publish selected submissions after the BBWAA announces the inductees on Jan. 10.
