TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona guard Hassan Adams has been issued a misdemeanor citation for disturbing the peace.

Adams, a 21-year-old senior, was arrested Sunday after an early morning incident outside his apartment complex, Tucson police spokesman Dallas Wilson said Monday.

Some 200 people were in the parking lot about 2 a.m. and a party apparently erupted into fighting, along with drinking and dancing on cars, according to police.

Adams reportedly became involved in an argument between a woman and her former boyfriend, she told police.

Wilson said Adams was ticketed and released after he refused to leave when officers told him to go home.

The 6-foot-4 Adams is the leading scorer this season for the 24th-ranked Wildcats with an 18.3 point average and second leading rebounder at 7.3 per game.

Richard Paige, an athletic department spokesman, said coach Lute Olson was out of town recruiting Monday and not immediately available for comment.

Paige said it was premature to say whether Adams might face any disciplinary action.
