ACCURACY
This has been Eli’s biggest weakness and Peyton’s greatest strength. The Colts’ wizard puts his passes where his talented receivers can catch them and delivers those passes from every angle. After an uneven rookie season, Peyton is now deadly accurate nearly all the time, with a career completion mark of around 64 percent. In 2005, he was closer to 70 percent. Eli has completed barely half of his passes, though he connected on more than 60 percent of his passes in college so he still may be traversing the learning curve. Where Peyton is precise, Eli is erratic. He’ll force a pass into coverage, confident he’s strong enough to get the ball there. But he’ll also miss receivers so badly he leaves observers shaking their heads. “You always try to be accurate and make all your throws, but sometimes there are other things that factor into your completion percentage,” Eli said. “It could be the rush, it could be blocks or tips or dropped balls, all those things. I'm just trying to work on my fundamentals to make sure that's not the reason for missing open guys.” Edge: Peyton.
