Carl Pavano is reportedly tired of being with the Yankees after one year with the team.

Carl Pavano is reportedly sick of the New York Yankees after only one year with the team, the Newark Star Ledger reported.

The right-hander, who signed a four-year contract with New York last year, has told friends that he wants a trade, the paper reported.

According to the paper, the Yankees would listen to other teams' offers for Pavano if presented a good deal.

Pavano recently split up with his agent Scott Shapiro, who negotiated his $39.95-million contract last winter. The pitcher has not decided on a new agent, but once he does, it's expected that he will ask for a trade, the paper reported.

The Yankees would still be in decent shape if they traded Pavano because of the team's improved starting pitching.

Dealing Pavano also would free up some money for New York, since the pitcher is owed $30.95 million over the next three years, the paper reported.

The Detroit Tigers might be interested in making a deal for Pavano, since they have money to spend. Other potential candidates could include Seattle, which pursued him last winter, and the Florida Marlins, his former team.
